1) How long have you been working with WAY Student Ministries?
Since WAY’s inception
2) Share a favorite memory from your own high school years
Cutting out on senior skip day as a junior (legitimately--honor students were exempted from being on campus when we had no class), going with friends to Waimea Beach and jumping off the top of the rock 22ft into the ocean…Goes along with the thrill of doing something for the first time, and having a blast enjoying the elements of wind, sun, and water
3) High School you graduated from?
Punahou Schools (Honolulu, Hawai’i; established 1841)
4) What draws you to work with students?
I enjoy the mentoring process, and take pleasure in seeing young adults grow in leadership and spirituality.  I love challenging people, and getting them to think about their positions—whether they are adamant or uncertain.
5) What's your day job?
I have no day job.  Oh, you mean what do I do while working at night?  I help train or troubleshoot issues, people see/call/visit/text/IM us when they don’t know why they can’t do their job…

1) How long have you been working with WAY Student Ministries? I have been working with David and WAY since David got here, all 12 years. I have been working with youth groups for 43 years.
2) Share a favorite memory from your own high school years In high school I had long hair in an era when long hair was not allowed. I was a rebel and a "Hippie." I was called "Miss Smith" by teachers, kicked out of school multiple times, dropped from sports teams and reprimanded by school administration staff all because of the length of my hair. I always stood up to them saying I have the right to be me, not who you want me to be. I am proud to say that by my senior year many of the school policies had changed. I never realized how much I was being watched until my 40th class reunion and classmates told me stories they remembered me standing up to the teachers and staff and many of the things I said. I never knew how much they were watching and that it would be remembered throughout their lives.
3) High School you graduated from?  I graduated from Meadowdale High School
4) What draws you to work with students? I have always enjoyed working with youth and giving back guidance, encouragement and support to the youth. My favorite saying was by a man named Forest Witcraft - "A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove... but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child."
5) What's your day job? Living and Loving Life.

1) How long have you been working with WAY Student Ministries? Fall of 2019
2) Share a favorite memory from your own high school years.  My fondest memories from my high school years were within WAY Student Ministries. Seeing members of this community on Sunday nights for the high school program or participating in mission trips to Wyoming, Kentucky, Idaho, and Mexico. So many incredible memories of building relationships with one another and with other communities, both nationally and internationally.
3) High School you graduated from?  Inglemoor High School (Kenmore, WA) in 2015.
4) What draws you to work with students? I really enjoy seeing how students grow into becoming future servant leaders and mentors in the community. WAY Student Ministries has created such an impactful ripple effect through peer-to-peer leadership and service opportunities.
5) What's your day job? I am a volunteer coordinator working with volunteers supporting pediatric hospice and palliative care, bereavement support, and a local grief camp.

1) How long have you been working with WAY Student Ministries?
This is my first year working as an adult leader with WAY. However, it wasn't too long ago that I was a student member of WAY student ministries myself (2007-2013).
2) Share a favorite memory from your own high school years.  My favorite memory from my high school years is definitely the 2011 Idaho Servant Adventures Mission trip. I remember there was one evening after we were done serving and one of my friends went down in the basement of one of the main buildings, grabbed a stereo, and started a giant dance party with at least 50 other kids from multiple different churches. I got to spend a lot of time with some of my closest friends and I also made many new friends from different churches all over the country.
3) High School you graduated from?  I graduated from Kamiak in 2013.
4) What draws you to work with students? I've always had a passion for volunteering and helping wherever I can within the church. Working with students has always brought me so much joy and the energy that kids bring is always so exciting!
5) What's your day job? I'm a manager in the retail industry!
